Well, it was my first day of my 365 day self-directed retreat at Sugar Ridge… no plans to make plans… just be receptive to messages.
As I was coming into the centre, I bumped into two women who were also doing a retreat at the centre. Not sure how the conversation started, but, they found out one of my quests for this year was to learn to breathe with my abs….
They told me, I should so take their pilates class on the next day, it would help me. So I did. They were right.
Nancy Botting is a physiotherapist and Terri Benison is a registered nurse. Both are leading by examples by also being certified pilates instructors at Physical Edge Physiotherapy in Clinic. They decided to bring some of their patients for a 3 day Wellness retreat.
I went to class and they help me learn to align my body, protect my neck, squeeze balls
and a lot of other really cool ways to breathe better. Everyone welcomed me. Even though I am journeying alone, it was fun to have fellow travellers on the weekend.
